Training Classes

HOW do I book onto a course?

Once you have decided which course you would like to join with your dog, please complete and submit the Registration Form located towards the bottom of this web page.

We will then email you with all of the details that you need in order to confirm your booking. If there are no places remaining for the course start date that you have requested, we will offer you alternative options. We aim to respond to all enquiries within 48 hours, so if you haven't received a reply within this time frame, please check your spam / junk folder in case our email has bounced into there. If you can't find an email reply from us in any of your folders, please call, text or WhatApp message Sara on 07833 662417.

Class sizes are small, ensuring that all dogs and owners receive plenty of individual attention.

All courses must be pre-booked and paid for in advance of the course start date.

WHERE are in-person classes held?

K9 Woodland Services, Cane End

Our great new outdoor training facility features an all-weather manège, parkland and woodland, all of which are securely-fenced, and provide an ideal environment for a range of training activities, with car parking and toilet facilities on site.

K9 Woodland Services is located just off the A4074 at Summer Cottage, Cane End, RG4 9HG, approximately equidistant between the main local towns of Henley-on-Thames, Reading and Wallingford, which are all around a 15 minute drive away.

K9 Woodland Services’s facilities have been developed for private hire by members of the public, so that you can book exclusive use of specific areas, in one-hour slots, seven days a week, and enjoy exercising your dog in interesting, securely-fenced environments knowing that you’ve got the space all to yourselves. Ideal for dogs who do not enjoy interacting with other dogs or strangers, who are still developing their recall skills, or who may be physically fragile and vulnerable to harm from interest shown towards them by other dogs. For more information, visit www.k9woodlandservices.co.uk

Stoke Row Village Hall

Sadly, we are not currently able to run training classes from our original lovely training venue due to coronavirus restrictions, we do hope to be able to return in the future.

Stoke Row Village Hall is located on Main Street, Stoke Row, Oxfordshire, RG9 5QL, which is within an approximately 15 minute drive of Henley-on-Thames, Caversham, Watlington and Wallingford.

The Hall has its own car park, disabled access, modern toilets / baby-changing facilities and heating for those cold winter days and nights!

WHEN do the classes take place?

For currently scheduled course start dates and times, please visit our Class Dates & Prices page. It is our aim to schedule classes that work for as many people, puppies, dogolescents and adult dogs as possible, therefore if you would be interested in other days / times for classes, please do get in touch and let us know what could work for you. If we can add further courses to accommodate client needs, we will try!

WHO can come along to the classes?

A maximum of five dogs, each accompanied by one owner, are permitted to take part in any in-person group class at the present time, in order to comply with UK Government guidance for England regarding coronavirus, which limits participation in group activities to six people from different households (your trainer makes up the sixth person!). If more than one household member would like to take part in training sessions, we offer one-to-one in-person training to individual households, as well as online group training class options for some of our courses.

HOW much do the classes cost?

For course prices, please visit out Class Dates & Prices page.

Private Training

HOW do I book a private training session?

If you would like to arrange an individually-tailored New Puppy Home Visit, One-to-One Training session or Rescue Dog Support session, please complete and submit the Registration Form located towards the bottom of this web page.

We will then call or email you to discuss your requirements further, and proceed to making an appointment, as appropriate. We aim to respond to all enquiries within 48 hours, so if you haven't received a reply within this time frame, please check your spam / junk folder in case our email has bounced into there. If you can't find an email reply from us in any of your folders, please call, text or WhatsApp message Sara on 07833 662417.

WHERE do private training sessions take place?

Individual training support is offered via video call, and / or in-person in Covid-secure environments, which may include your garden, public outdoor settings or a third-party outdoor training facility, as appropriate.

WHEN are appointments for private training available?

Appointments usually take place during weekday daytimes, however evening and weekend appointments are available and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.

WHO can take part in private training sessions?

This will depend on the nature of the training session, however we encourage participation from all human family members, and if appropriate, other furry family members, if this will be beneficial to the success of the training aims. Please note that parents / guardians are responsible for supervising and ensuring the calm behaviour of children at all times.

HOW much do private training sessions cost?

For the prices of each of our individually-tailored private training options, please read the information for each option listed on the drop-down menu under the Training Options menu tab at the top of this page.

Private training sessions are charged per time slot rather than per dog, therefore if you have more than one dog of your own that you would like to include in the session, or would like to share a session with a friend or family member and their dog/s, we are very happy to accommodate these arrangements.

Mileage (depending on location of training session, charged at 45p per mile each way), and third party venue hire, may be chargeable as additional extras. We will let you know if any of these charges will apply before you confirm your appointment.

Cancellation Policy: We understand that life happens and that you may need to change your appointment. If you do need to make a change, please provide us with at least 48 hours notice, otherwise you may be charged the full session fee for your cancelled appointment.
